Norwalk Boys To Host Cedar Rapids Kennedy Tuesday
NORWALK, Iowa — The (5-2) Norwalk Warriors will host the (4-3) Cedar Rapids Kennedy Cougars on Tuesday, Jan. 12.
The last time the Warriors and the Cougars faced off, Kennedy took the game, 70-41. In that game, 2025 Norwalk graduate Kaleb Foltz had 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. Fellow 2025 Kennedy graduate Trey McKowen had 18 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals.
Norwalk junior Tillman Papcun leads the team in basic stats like points (160) and rebounds (43). However, he is also efficient from around the court, going 54/99 in total field goals made. Junior Audric Pelzer leads the team in total assists (24). For three-point percentage, Papcun also averages 46.8%, leading the Warriors.
Cedar Rapids Kennedy junior Jaxson Bean leads the team in points scored (71), assists (33), and trails senior Justin Powell in rebounds. Meanwhile, fellow senior Deacon Kucera has the best shooting percentage on the Cougar team (63.2%).
The game will take place at 7:00 p.m. at the NPECC this Tuesday.
Norwalk Girls To Host Newton Tuesday In Conference Bout
NORWALK, Iowa — The (9-1) Norwalk Warriors will host the (5-4) Newton Cardinals on Tuesday, Jan. 12. This matchup will feature a Little Hawkeye Conference tilt.
Since 2006, Bound has tracked all Iowa sports. The Warriors and Cardinals have faced off 38 times, with Norwalk taking 33 total. This included a 56-19 victory on Feb. 16, 2022.
Warrior sophomore Braylyn Birmingham leads the team with 322 points, 77 rebounds, and 38 assists. Senior Ava Carlson led in total field goal percentage. However, Carlson was sidelined against the DCG Mustangs with a hamstring injury.
Cardinals sophomore Addyson Cibula leads Newton in points scored (91) and rebounds tallied (96). Fellow sophomores Emerson Ray and Sophia Coady tie for the most total assists with 13 each. Finally, Cibula also has the best shooting percentage (48.6%).
The game will take place at 6:00 p.m. at the NPECC this Tuesday.
