On Friday, Sept. 26, the City High Little Hawks (0-4) will host the Norwalk Warriors (1-3) in Iowa City, Iowa. This marks the week of Iowa City High’s homecoming. According to GoBound, this is the first time both teams have faced each other in history (note: Bound has been tracking since 2008).
In Norwalk’s last game, the Warriors beat the Ames Little Cyclones, 53-0. That was their first win this season. Senior James Hatlevig passed 12/17, 204 passing yards, and four touchdowns.
Speaking of Hatlevig, his season totals are 71/132 passing (53.8%), 834 passing yards, and nine touchdowns. He also has two total interceptions.
Senior Breck Welch leads the team in total rushes (37), rushing yards (166), longest single rush (10), and rushing touchdowns (2). However, fellow senior Brady Wilkening leads the team in yards per carry with 8.5.
Senior and University of Iowa commit Eli Robbins has 30 receptions, 343 receiving yards, and four touchdowns through the air. Senior Luke Brewer has the most yards per catch with around 15. Brewer also has the longest single catch with 69 yards.
Brewer, along with junior Victor Esparza, tied for most tackles with 22 solo tackles each. Brewer has 23.5 total tackles while Esparza has 23. Junior Luke Rewerts and Wilkening have the most sacks with one each.
The game will be at 7:00 p.m. at Iowa City High School.
