Mr. Bergstrom will be the new assistant principal at Norwalk High School for the new school year of 2025-2026. He will start his journey as assistant principal July 1st, about two months before the new school year starts.
“I was very excited to get that opportunity, and I’m looking forward to making an impact,” he said.
People may know Mr. Bergstrom because he taught freshman Health for the past four years. For those years, he also has been attending school just like the high school students.
“Couple of years ago, I started my journey into getting into my master’s program, and I thought this would be kind of the natural next step is to start learning about leadership opportunities within the school setting,” he said.
Mr. Bergstrom will be taking over the role of Ms. Frantum, who will be retiring at the end of the 2024-25 school year.
“I’m hoping I can get to travel,” Ms. Frantum said. “But I want to spend some time volunteering for different causes that I’m passionate about. And also I love doing home repair projects, so I can spend time doing stuff at my house that I didn’t have time to do over the past 34 years.”
Mr. Bergstrom said he is really excited about getting this job, but he will also miss teaching Health.
“It’s a lot of conversations about life decisions that students can take with them for the rest of their lives, so I really enjoy talking about those things and I’m going to miss that,” he said. “But I’ll [still] be talking about those different things and how to live successful lives in a different capacity.”
Mr. Bergstrom said that he is really excited about taking this new role at Norwalk High School.
“This is a place that I really care about,” Mr. Bergstrom said. “Over the last four years, I felt like I’ve seen the great things that we do, and I’m super excited to continue all those things that are moving in the right direction.”
