The Norwalk drama and choir departments are putting on their annual spring musical on Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26. The show for this year is Cinderella.
Based on the Rodgers and Hammerstein show from 1957, the story follows a young girl named Ella, played by Alayna Williams, living with her abusive family in poverty. After a chance encounter with a fairy godmother, played by Karlie Latterell, she is transformed into a beautiful princess, and meets the prince of the kingdom, Topher, played by Chase Coburn.
The musical features songs such as “In My Own Little Corner,” and “A Lovely Night.” The show is directed by Mrs. Ommen and features piano playing by Mrs. Tate and Gracelyn Lors. Other leads include Julia Palen (Madame), Elizabeth Winters (Charlotte), Sophia Magill (Gabrielle), Eli Geisler (Sebastian), Aiden Buckingham (Jean-Michel), and Sylas Palladino (Lord Pinkleton).
Both shows are at 7 p.m. Links to tickets can be found at the Norwalk choir website as well as on posters found around the school. The show will take place at the Norwalk Performing Arts Center.
