With the NFL playoffs fast approaching, emotions are running high among some fans. From stellar performances to frustrating missteps, some Norwalk NFL fans share their thoughts on their favorite teams so far.
“They’ve not been good this year,” said Indianapolis Colts fan, Hunter Newberg. “Both quarterbacks [Anthony Richardson and Joe Flacco] are not good, but Richardson’s looked better. They’re under 50 percent for win percentage right now, and they’re not even gonna make the playoffs.”
Newberg also said that the future of the Colts is up in the air, with a deciding factor being whether to fire the general manager, Chris Ballard, along with head coach, Shane Steichen.
“Super Bowl or bust,” was the Colts’ expectation in Newbergs opinion going into this season.
Senior Tyler Stanford said he is a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs.
“My family have been longtime Chiefs fans, so I figured I should be too, so I’ve been following them from a young age,” Stanford said.
Stanford also said that he thinks the Chiefs have performed well this year.
“I think the refs have helped them a lot, but it’s been exciting to watch them this year,” said Stanford. “I think the kinda overall expectation is a 3-peat for them, but we’ll have to see how it pans out.”
Stanford also believes that the future of the Chiefs relies on retaining Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes.
“As long as we have my king Patrick Mahomes I think the future is very bright,” Stanford said.
Pittsburgh Steelers fan Braxton Mendoza said that the Steelers have been a dark horse this year.
“The Steelers have actually been good this year, even with the Justin Fields and Russell Wilson situation,” said Mendoza. “I think they’ve exceeded some of the expectations they had this year, they’re 10-4 and leading their division.”
Mendoza said that he has high hopes for his team in the playoffs, saying that he thinks they could be a potential Super Bowl team this year.
“I think if they can keep building on this strong roster, I think the future looks bright for us.” said Mendoza.
