After the fall play showcased a few weeks ago, some students and parents said that it went really well.
“I was just really excited,” Natalia Duggan said.
Natalia Duggan, a junior at Norwalk High School, said that she went to go see the play to support her friends that were in it. She said that she heard lots of good things from other people about the show which convinced her to go see it.
“I heard some stuff about it from other people, and it seemed like that they were kinda excited,” she said.
Natalia said that she thought the plot was really great. She said that if you have read the Harry Potter books and know a lot about the characters, then you have a better understanding of the plot and really enjoy it.
Natalia said that her favorite scene was the wand dance. She said that she really enjoyed it when Andy DeBower and Wyatt Schwery danced around the stage as young versions of Albus and Scorpius. Then they went backstage while Chase Coburn and Sylas Palladino went on stage and took their place as older versions of the characters.
“It was the cutest thing ever and I love that scene, and the music was really great too,” she said.
Natalia said that her favorite characters in the show were Harry Potter, Scorpius, and Albus. She said that Scorpius and Albus made a great duo, and she has loved Harry Potter ever since she was younger.
“Harry Potter definitely was my favorite though because I grew up on Harry Potter and I love Harry Potter,” she said.
Natalia said that overall the show went really well. She said she liked the effects and lighting.
“The Blackshirts did a really good job with all the lighting and stuff and the music, and it was really cool,” she said.
Natalia said that they could work on the spell effects that were used in the play.
“Obviously they can’t make it look that real, but it was kinda awkward sometimes,” she said. “But other than that it was fine most of the time.”
Natalia said that everyone in the play did an amazing job in the play and worked really hard.
“Shoutout to Eli Giesler, Ryley Six, Sylas Palladino, Natalie Olson and the Blackshirts, Elizabeth Winters, Cori Beauchamp, the Beehlers, and shoutout to everybody in the play,” she said. “I love you all.”
Natalia went to the play with her mom, Lilia Duggan, to go support her friends that were in the show.
Lilia said that the show was really good.
“I liked the whole thing,” she said. “The actors did a really good job.”
Lilia said that she had a fun time going to see the play and that she really liked all the actors that were in the show.
She said that next time they could probably make the show a bit shorter since it was a bit long. She also said that they could try to create more buzz about the show so more people could come and see it.
“I think they did good, just maybe a little bit shorter or faster,” she said. “Besides that they did really good.”
Lilia said that overall “the show was great.”
Natalie Olson, a sophomore at Norwalk High School, said that she went to the show because she wanted to support her friends who were in it.
“I wanted to go support them because they worked so hard to make it happen,” she said.
Olson was a Blackshirt during one of the nights that Harry Potter was being showcased.
“I was miking and it was really fun and everyone was so sweet,” she said.
Olson said that she didn’t have any expectations about the show and was just really excited to go see it.
“I didn’t know really what I expected,” she said. “I heard that there was going to be a bunch of cool potions and effects, so I was looking forward to that and they ended up doing it really well.”
Olson said that she also really enjoyed the wand dance. She said that her favorite line in the show was when Amos Diggory, played by Elizabeth Winters, said, “How many people have to die for the boy who lived?”
Olson said that the show was amazing. She said that they could work on fixing the lighting and effects for next time.
“Definitely timing the actors and the lighting effects,” she said. “I feel like it was generally pretty good, but I feel like if they had more time to work on it and do it again, then I think they should focus on that because it would be really cool if they got it perfect.”
Olson said that everyone in the play was really nice and did an amazing job.
“It was really good,” she said. “I really enjoyed it, and I really enjoyed helping with it too.”
