Norwalk High School students celebrated Mother’s Day last Sunday. From giving gifts to writing letters, everyone thanked their mom in different ways.
Senior Tyler Davis said he bought gifts for his mom for Mother’s Day.
“I gave my mom some toys I got in Dollar General,” said Davis. “I bought some chocolates, gave her a gift she could use instead of just flowers. I think I got her a good gift.
Davis said he thinks Mother’s Day is a day where we can appreciate our mothers.
“You appreciate the one that brought this life on Mother’s Day,” said Davis. “I just stayed home on Mother’s Day, but we went out to The Cheesecake Factory later.”
Freshman Joe Ceretti said he enjoys giving nostalgic gifts on Mother’s Day.
“I worked and made my mom a card,” said Ceretti. “I gave my grandma a card and pink Starburst. It’s her favorite candy. A sentimental gift.”
Ceretti said that his appreciation to his grandma and mother made his day.
“My grandma said I love you more than you ever know, have a great day, after Mother’s Day,” said Ceretti. “It made my grandma’s day. Mother’s Day is a day to appreciate the person who made you, raised you and provided you with everything you needed.”
Sophomore Brayden Plourde said he got to appreciate his mom more on Mother’s Day.
“I got my mom some gardening gloves and gifts,” said Brayden. “My mom gardens. I was able to really appreciate what she did for me. A pivotal person in my life and just really influenced me and my character, the person who I am today.”
“Mother’s Day is a day where people recognize all the good things mothers have done in everyone’s lives,” said Plourde.
