Students grateful for teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week

With Teacher Appreciation Week in May, some students like Gus Nurre had nice things to say about some teachers.

Gus said the nicest thing a teacher has ever done for him was when his French teacher Allison Klein stayed an hour after school to help him get his French grade up.

“I wouldn’t have been able to pass French without taking these tests,” Gus said.

Abraham Mondloch said the nicest thing a teacher has ever done for him was when English teacher Mariah Brown gave him a C on his test instead of an F. His grade would have dropped if he didn’t get a C on his test.

“Shout out to Mrs.Brown, she believed in me,” Abe said.

Gavin Smith said the nicest thing a teacher has done for him was when librarian Zoey Perrigo fixed his chromebook for him in the library. Gavin said he had lots of work to get done, so this really helped him keep up with his work.

“She is a hero to me,” Gavin said.

Lex Marshall said that the nicest thing a teacher ever did for him was when librarian Deb Hall did not kick him out of the library for being a troublemaker.

“Deb had mercy on me,” Lex said.

Corbin Oswald said the nicest thing a teacher ever did for him was when woods teacher Joe Mack came in an hour early to help him work on missing projects. He was behind and without finishing these, he would not have been able to pass.

“Mr.Mack is an incredible teacher,” Corbin said.

Marla Frantum, dean of students, said teachers are really special people.

“Teachers are the backbone of our society.” Frantum said. “They inspire our future leaders and make our world go round.”
